Rivian’s hotly-anticipated electric pickup truck is scheduled to arrive in 2021. Rivian is touted to be the next big thing in the EV industry, and from the looks of it, it could actually give Tesla a run for its money in the pickup truck and SUV market.
Available only in crew cab configuration, the R1T is bigger than a Ford Ranger but smaller than the F-150, categorizing it as a large midsize SUV. At 215.5 inches long, the R1T is roughly the size of a single-cab Toyota Tacoma. The interior certainly looks inviting with smart stitching and natural wood trim.
It features a quad-motor setup with one motor connected to each wheel. The motors are mounted on the board and not in the wheel hubs. combined power output reach 750 depending on battery pack.
Buyers will have three lithium-ion battery pack sizes to choose from: 105 kWh, 135 kWh, and 180 kWh. They respectively correspond to a maximum driving range of 230, 300, and 400 miles. the three R1T variants will boast a zero-to-60-mph time of 4.9, 3.0, and 3.2 seconds, respectively. That’s seriously quick.
