Mercedes-Benz introduced the VISION EQXX, a new electric prototype that sets new norms for range and performance.
According to the manufacturer, the new premium prototype has a range of more than 1000 kilometers on a single charge. Improved aerodynamics is critical to improving total efficiency. The VISION EQXX has a drag coefficient of only 0.17, which translates to a longer range and more efficiency.
The VISION EQXX has a lightweight battery housing and a highly efficient and small electric engine. Solar panels on the roof provide additional energy to the electric system, which gives power to many of the auxiliary devices in the VISION EQXX. This lowers the high-voltage system’s energy consumption, resulting in increased range. This can add up to 25 kilometers of range to long-distance excursions on a single day given optimum conditions.
