Yamaha unveiled two exclusive track machines – the R6 RACE and R6 GYTR.

The R6 continues to dominate WorldSSP and is the bike of choice for any rider who is serious about winning.

The race-bred motorcycle is powered by a 599cc engine that produces 118.4 horsepower and 61.7 Newton meters of peak torque. The high-performance engine features lightweight forged pistons, titanium valves, a 13.1:1 compression ratio, Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake (YCC-I) and Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T), as well as a slipper clutch, close ratio 6-speed transmission, and Quick Shift System (QSS) for upshifting at full throttle.

The lightweight aluminum Deltabox chassis features a magnesium subframe and an aluminum fuel tank, as well as high-performance R1-type 43 mm KYB adjustable front forks and an adjustable KYB rear shock for precise handling and cornering – and the radial mount front brake calipers with 320 mm discs deliver massive stopping power and contribute significantly to faster lap times.

For 2022, the R6 RACE will be available in sleek Tech Black with gold-colored forks, and will be supplied in track-ready trim with non-essential road components such as headlamp, position lights, mirrors, horn, licence plate holder, tandem seat, and tandem footrests omitted.

This minimizes weight in order to increase performance, making this non-homologated bike ideal for track day riders as well as racers who wish to personalize it to their own specifications.

GYTR Yamaha R6 GYTR is best suited for those who want to take the bike’s performance to the next level by installing a range of engine, suspension or other GYTR components.

In addition to a programmable Superstock ECU with a cable interface that allows the rider to optimize engine performance, the R6 GYTR is equipped with a racing wiring harness and a long list of high-performance GYTR (Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing) accessories.

The titanium Akrapovič racing exhaust system is lightweight and produces roughly 100Db or less – and incorporates block-off plates for the Air Intake System (AIS), allowing for the removal of various hoses and canisters. The bike features racing sprockets with an unique 520 chain, as well as high-quality stainless steel brake lines for increased brake performance and precise feedback.

The GYTR ABS Emulator enables the ABS pump to be removed for even greater weight savings. Additionally, the GYTR race seat and fully adjustable billet rear sets provide the optimal racing posture, with the shift pattern inverted. To start the engine, simply push the GYTR start/stop button, which, when combined with the distinctive GYTR fuel cap, enables a complete keyless system. The R6 GYTR comes equipped with a lightweight primer white carbon-reinforced glass fibre cowling that allows riders and teams to customize the bike with their preferred race livery and branding. Additional FIM-required components, such as the front brake lever guard and rear sprocket protection, are included.
