All new 2021 Toyota Hilux has been redesigned  completely with a three-dimensional trapezoidal grille and updated front bumper providing a bold and powerful road presence. 

2021 Toyota Hilux continues it’s legacy of reliability, go-anywhere, do-anything adaptability, and sheer resilience. All new Hilux sporting a fresh frontal design is offered in three power trains depending on its target markets – a 2.7-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine, a torquey 2.8-liter turbo Diesel engine and a 2.4-liter turbo Diesel engine equipped with direct fuel injection offering smooth acceleration without turbo lag and excellent fuel economy. Both 2.8-litre engine and the 2.4-litre power plant are available with either six-speed manual and six-speed Super Intelligent Electronically Controlled – Super ECT – automatic transmission upgraded with an expanded lock-up range in fourth, fifth and sixth gear. 

The 2.8-liter turbo Diesel powering the top-of-the-range Invincible X and Invincible Double Cab models produces 201 hp @ 3,400 rpm and 500 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 2,800rpm. The 16-valve DOHC four-cylinder 2.4-liter turbo Diesel engine equipped with variable nozzle turbocharger and an intercooler generates 148 hp @ 3,400 rpm and 400 Ann of torque available between 1,600 and 2,000rpm. The engine has an electronically controlled, common rail fuel injection system that achieves higher pressure and more advanced injection pressure control and new-shape pistons to suit the combustion chamber design. The engine has a water-cooled exhaust gas recirculation system with an EGR cooler bypass function and the catalyst is positioned adjacent to the engine, giving cleaner performance. 

Fully equipped cabin is another attractive feature of 2021 Toyota Hilux. Hilux interior features 8-inch color touchscreen, Apply Car Play and Android Auto, and a class leading sound system. Well appointed interior comfortably seats four adults with plenty of legroom and headroom. The top spec Invincible X variants are fitted with JBL sound system.

Hilux is offered in four variants – Active, Icon, Invincible and Invincible X. Active grade is equipped with 17- inch steel wheels, rear diff lock and easy-care PVC upholstery, automatic headlights, radio and CD player, Bluetooth and USB port. It also features Toyota Safety Sense as standard (Pre-Collision System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert and Road Sign Assist. Single, Extra and Double Cab versions are available.

Icon grade features 17-inch alloys, LED front fog lights, side steps, privacy glass, fabric upholstery, a reversing camera and power folding door mirrors, latest multimedia system and smartphone integration, DAB radio reception and an automatic limited-slip differential.

Hilux Invincible is equipped with LED rear lights, new 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, smart entry and push-button start and automatic air conditioning and park sensors. 

The top of the range Hilux Invincible X sports bold new body mouldings, exclusive front bumper and tailgate handle, ambient door panel lighting, a nine-speaker JBL premium audio system, dual-tone leather upholstery and power driver’s seat adjustment. 

Drive comfort is significantly improved with improved suspension system and power steering. At the rear heavy duty leaf springs with twin shock absorbers provide the suspension duty resulting in comfortable on and off-road performance. Updated lighter power steering system helps in easy manoeuvrability and stability and control at higher speeds. 

Off-road prowess of Hilux has been further enhanced by the introduction of a new automatic electronic control which replicates the effect of a mechanical limited-slip differential to give better traction and acceleration on low-grip surfaces. Off-road credentials are enhanced by the Active Traction Control, Hill Start Assist Control, Downhill Assist Control, tyre angle monitor, 310mm ground clearance, approach and departure angles of 29 and 26 degrees respectively and 700mm of water wading capability.
