For 2021 Ducati Monster gets a more powerful engine, less weight and yes a aluminum monocoque frame instead of the iconic trellis frame. 2021 Monster is powered by the 937cc Testastretta 11° L-twin found in Hypermotard 950 and Supersport 950. The engine is good for 114 horsepower @ 9250 rpm and 69 ft-lbs of torque @ 6500 rpm.
The Superbike derived frame of the new Monster with an aluminium front frame contributes to maintaining the dry weight at just 166 kg, shedding almost 18 kg. To ensure maximum manoeuvrability at low speeds and facilitate manoeuvring from a standstill, the steering angle has been increased to 36°.
The handlebar has been brought closer to the rider’s torso by about 7 cm to have a more upright riding position that guarantees greater comfort and control. The position of the feet has also been changed, and the legs are now less curled up.
Stopping power is provided by twin Brembo M4-32 4-piston monobloc calipers that grip 320 mm discs. Clutch and brake levers are both adjustable in distance from the handlebar. At the rear, instead, is a single 245 mm disc gripped by a Brembo caliper; like the front brake, it features enhanced-efficiency sintered brake pads.
The new monster is equipped with Launch Control, which ensures lightning-fast starts usually found in Super sport category. Standard equipment includes fully-adjustable ABS Cornering, Traction Control, Wheelie Control. New monster sports adjustable ABS, Ride-by-Wire technology for the dynamic control systems of the bike, Ducati traction control and three ride modes: Sport, Touring, Urban.
The Monster instrument panel is embellished by a 4.3” colour TFT display. Its graphics comes from the Panigale V4 and offers useful on-board information.
