Musician and philanthropist Willian James Adams aka will.i.am teamed up with Mercedes-AMG to create a one-off concept car called WILL.I.AMG based on Mercedes GT 4-Door Coupe.

WILL.I.AMG features a totally redesigned body with suicide doors and the GT front end replaced with round headlights and vertical grille similar to the Mercedes G wagon.

The one-off GT project is aimed at raising funds for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) education among disadvantaged youth. The three pointed star logo of Mercedes is replaced by a Bear face dubbed as “BEAR WITNESS” which is also decorating the rim center caps. This icon is also the focal point of the BEAR WITNESS collection that features limited-edition apparel and accessories available at the Mercedes-AMG Experience Center in Miami and online.

WILL.I.AMG  is powered by the same GT powerplant – 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 generating 630 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque.

The concept car is built by West Coast Customs.

“I grew up in a ghetto. I grew up with hip-hop. I watched legendary hip-hop artists rap about Mercedes, so it was always a dream to own a Mercedes. For a lot of inner-city kids, owning a Mercedes is a symbol of progress and advancing out of struggle,” explains will.i.am. “Now I’ve reached my goal and pushed even higherby reimagining and creating my own vision of an AMG model. But I didn’t touch the engine, because AMG really does make the best engines. The story of the founders of AMG truly inspires me and it is energizing to collaborate with like-minded people who also seek continuous improvement.” says will.i.am.
