Acura TLX, one of the best performing, quick and best handling sedan from Acura has been updated for 2021. Acura’s Type S high performance variant is also offered for 2021.

ACURA TLX 2021

The 2021 TLX is powered by a 2.0-liter DOHC, direct-injected and turbocharged engine with VTEC, mated to Acura’s incredibly responsive 10-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift. Rated at 272 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. of torque, the TLX’s 2.0-liter turbo offers more horsepower and torque when compared to the previous model’s naturally aspirated 2.4-liter 4-cylinder and optional 3.5-liter V6.

The TLX Type S is powered by a new 3.0-liter 24-valve, DOHC direct-injected and turbocharged V6 engine built by the same team of engineers who crafted the legendary NSX’s bespoke twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid power unit. Compact and lightweight turbo V6 generates more horsepower and more than 50-percent increase in low-end torque compared to the outgoing, naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6. Turbo V6 is mated with 10-speed automatic, with Sequential SportShift and standard paddle shifters offering a wider ratio range, more discrete gears, four-gear direct downshifts and a lower first gear compared to the previous 8-speed dual-clutch and 9-speed automatic transmissions.

Acura’s torque-vectoring all-wheel drive technology (SH-AWD) is optional for 2.0-liter TLX whereas it is standard on TLX Type S. The Acura SH-AWD system in the new TLX transfers up to 70 percent of engine torque to the rear axle during normal driving conditions.

The 2021 TLX’s premium interior features high-grade materials including real aluminum, open-pore wood and full-grain Milano leather. The “Dual Personal Cockpit” with wrap around instrument panel offers class leading luxurious and spacious seating for both front-seat occupants. The sport seats are 16-way power adjustable. Flat bottomed sporty steering wheel is wrapped in perforated leather with contrast stitching and metal-plated paddle shifters. Type S interior boasts Type S badging on the door sills, steering wheel and embossed headrests.

The 2021 TLX features a performance focused and athletic exterior design taking styling cues from Acura Precision Concept  and Type S Concept. Compared to previous model, the all new TLX sports a low and wide stance with 3.7-inch longer wheelbase, 2.2-inch wider body with wider front and rear tracks. At the front the upright pentagon grille is flanked by Jewel Eye LED headlights and LED daytime running lights inspiring Acura ARX-05 Daytona Prototype.

ACURA TLX 2021

2021 TLX’s chassis made of lightweight materials, including aluminum and press-hardened steel is more rigid than ever increasing torsional stiffness. New for 2021 double-wishbone front suspension offers precise handling and corner grip. TLX is also equipped with  variable-ratio steering system, electro-servo brake-by-wire technology from the NSX and an available driver selectable Adaptive Damper System.

TLX features sophisticated electric-servo brake system and Type S is offered with larger discs and four-piston Brembo front calipers. TLX is equipped with standard 18-inch wheels and available 19-inch wheels in various finishes, depending on trim. Type S models are offered with 20-inch split-10 spoke alloy wheels finished in Shark Gray.

All 2021 TLX models are equipped with AcuraWatch suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies as standard. This features Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Driver Awareness Monitor and Traffic Jam Assist (TJA).

TLX in A-Spec sport package adds Shark Grey 19-inch wheels, gloss black accents front to rear, darkened headlight and taillight treatment, and a pronounced rear decklid spoiler.

Acura’s Integrated Dynamics System offers customers customized driving options which features an individual mode, enabling the driver to choose their preferred individual settings for each element of system control.  Three driving modes are on offer – Comfort, Normal and Sport and Sport+ on TLX Type S.

2021 TLX is offered in nine exterior colors including newly introduced Phantom Violet Pearl and seven interior color options. The TLX Type S will be offered in an exclusive, bold Tiger Eye Pearl and Apex Blue Pearl. TLX A-Spec and TLX Type S models will feature either Ebony or Red Leather, both with black Ultrasuede inserts. Additionally, the TLX Type S will offer an exclusive Light Orchid leather interior option.
