This afternoon Jerez racetrack lighted up by a roaring orange rocket rode by reigning world champ Marc Marquez. He fell off to 16th from lead on lap 5 due to a front slide which sent him to gravel. Fabio Quartararo controlled the race after Marquez’s incident, able to keep the pace ahead of Maverick Vinales and the rest.
Spectators and channel cameras witnessed an amazing riding display by Marquez as he started chasing the pack and hunting down world champions, race winners and reached behind Maverick Vinales on 3rd with four laps to go. But he ended up on a fatal crash on turn three with a fractured right upper arm.
Quartararo comfortably cruised to his maiden victory. Vinales held onto second and Dovizioso on third.
