This version of the Wrangler was introduced in 1997. Unlimited has a 10-inch wheelbase stretch over the standard model, resulting in more rear-seat room. Its strengths are solely off-road; hard to live with every day use. Its thirsty engine performs just adequately, handling is clumsy, and the ride is stiff.

But this is the ultimate factory Jeep. Designed to go anywhere and return. Wrangler is a competent off-roader. It works well in soft sand thanks to a good power-to-weight ratio.

The 4.0-litre, six-cylinder engine has plenty of muscle and produces 190 hp @ 4600 rpm and 235 lb-ft of torque @ 2700 rpm.
