Iconic American car maker Delorean is all set to return with an electric sports sedan dubbed Alpha5. Limited to just 88 units, Delorean Alpha5 will debut at the 2022 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance scheduled on August 18.
The Alpha5 design is inspired by it’s iconic predecessor DMC 12 featured in “Back To The Future” movie franchise. Alpha5 features signature gull-wing type doors and a fluidic design with sculpted front end.
As per Delorean Alpha5, designed by Italdesign the same company designed the original will have a drag coefficient of 0.23cd and a top speed of about 250kmph. 0-142Kmph drag is completed in 4.35 seconds. The battery capacity of Alpha5 is expected to be around 100 kWh and provide a range of over 480 Km per charge.
“The Alpha5 is a representation of the past 40 years of DeLorean,” said Troy Beetz, Chief Marketing Officer of DeLorean Motor Company. “There was this enormous responsibility to make sure we honoured the history of the DeLorean brand, but an even greater responsibility in curating its future…I think we did both with the Alpha5.”
