Boss Hoss cycles, a US motorcycle manufacturer based in Dyersburg, Tennessee is famous for its very large displacement motorcycles and tricycles equipped with eight cylinder engines from Chevrolet and semi automatic transmissions.
Established in 1990 by Monte Warne, a commercial aircraft pilot, Boss Hoss Cycles was the first to manufacture V8 powered motorcycles with traditional cruiser style. Initial models were powered by Chevy V8’s coupled with single speed (one gear) transmission systems. Over the past 28 years Boss Hoss has diversified its product range from two wheelers to three wheeled motorcycles. New models features 2-speed transmission with reverse, inverted front suspension, vacuum formed body panels, investment, cast structural frame components.
All Boss Hoss frames are custom manufactured in Boss Hoss plant in Dyersburg. The foundation of every Boss Hoss is the 1.5 inch, 0.95 wall, 4130 chrome-molly tubing and investment cast heat-treated 4130 alloy neck (yoke) that make up the frame. All fabricated frames and components are painted black utilizing a powder coating paint system that produces a durable, high quality finish that is superior to conventional liquid paint.
The Chevy V8 engines are coupled with custom built proprietary speed semi-automatic transmissions with reverse for the bikes and a modified and remanufactured 4L70E 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission with reverse for trikes. Patented Boss Hoss frame is wrapped around the drive-train assembly by splitting the two piece designed frame. This helps to maintain a compact design, light and nimble in corners.
