During the 1980s, the DTM Touring car series in Germany was immensely popular due to the epic battles between Mercedes and BMW. Their arsenal consisted of four-cylinder E30 BMW M3 and Mercedes-Benz 190E sports cars.

To keep up with the competition, both manufacturers kept increasing the horsepower and aerodynamics of their vehicles. As a response to BMW’s M3 Sport Evo’s 2.5-liter 16-valve Cosworth-tuned engine producing 232 horsepower, Mercedes-Benz launched the 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II in 1990. With a body kit that reduced its drag coefficient to 0.29cd and hydraulic self-leveling rear suspension, Evolution II was an instant winner.

Khyzyl Saleem, who was inspired by the original Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II, created the Mercedes 190 Evo II Restomod, a stunning sports car.
