2023 Nissan Maxima enters its final year. The 300-hp sedan mated to a CVT is spacious and upscale. The Maxima will likely be replaced by an all-electric full-size sedan.
2023 Maxima retains the same carry over 3.5-liter V6 engine, rated at 300 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque, combined with an Xtronic transmission. Maxima has a strong visual presence thanks to its streamlined design. Its floating roof effect is created by blacked-out pillars, and a captivating first impression is made by the deep V-motion front grille, deep front fascia, and standard LED headlights and daytime running lights. Maxima SV wears standard 18-inch wheels, while SR has gloss black 19-inch wheels and Platinum has 19-inch machined-alloy wheels.
With a D-shaped, flat-bottom steering wheel, satin chrome trim, and contrast stitching on the dashboard, doors, console, seats, and steering wheel, the interior looks modern and athletic. The premium Ascot leather-wrapped steering wheel and ambient interior lighting are features of the Maxima SR and SV. A charcoal headliner and Satin Dark Chrome trim improve the inside of the Maxima SR. Satin Birdseye Maple Wood-toned trim and semi-aniline leather-appointed seats with diamond-quilted leather inserts are features of the Platinum grade.
The Nissan Safety Shield is included as standard equipment on the 2023 Maxima and consists of Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, and Rear Automatic Braking. The class-exclusive Intelligent Around Monitor (standard on SR and Platinum) offers a 360-degree camera view around the car to help with parking. Other standard driver assistance technologies include Intelligent Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Intelligent Driver Alertness.
The 8″ color display is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android AutoTM, two front USB ports (one Type A, one Type C), Nissan Door to Door navigation, and Nissan Connect Services, which includes a Wi-Fi hotspot and the ability to control specific vehicle functions via compatible smartphone or smartwatch apps.
A 7-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display in the instrument cluster, a basic 8-speaker audio system, and a Bose® 11-speaker audio system are standard on the SR and Platinum trims.
